Weather forecasters have said last month (June) was the warmest June on record since 19 years.
Forecasters also say it was the driest June in 40 years with little to no rain fell across the entire country for the month’s duration.
The news comes after forecasters officially confirmed that Tuesday of this week, was the warmest day of the year so far with most areas receiving temperatures of 26 degrees.
Met Eireann say the vast majority of the country saw temperatures in the high teens and low twenties for the entire month of June. The say lowest temperature for the month was 11.7C which was recorded at both Knock Airport in Co Mayo and at Malin Head in Donegal respectively.
