Sony reveals that the PlayStation 5 will be launched in 2020, and that it will be fully backwards compatible with current PS4 games

Gamers rejoice, as Japanese tech giant Sony has officially announced that the PlayStation 5 will go on sale in 2020.

The company was a little sketchy on actual technical details, but it has been confirmed that the machine will play all PS4 games, and that it will be capable of rendering games in mouth-watering 5K resolution.

Sony will not attend the E3 games convention this year, so it’s unlikely that any more information will be officially released for now.
