The Gardaí have extended their request for information from witnesses of a tragic collision that occurred in August in Swinford, County Mayo, reports The Mirror.
They specifically want to talk to the driver of a red saloon vehicle that was in the area when the accident happened.
On Monday, August 21, 2023, at around 430 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the site of a two-car collision on the N5 at Cloonlara, close to Swinford, reports The Mirror.
A 70-year-old Tourmakeady resident named Margaret (Peggy) Conway was a passenger in one of the vehicles when she suffered a fatal injury. The adored married mother of five and grandma of sixteen received a lot of accolades.
She was known for her “great sense of humour,” reports The Mirror.
Both the driver of the automobile in question, a man in his 70s, and the driver and only occupant of the second vehicle, a man in his late 40s, suffered severe injuries and needed medical attention.
Gardai are pleading with witnesses, anybody with dashcam footage, and the driver of a red saloon vehicle that was in the vicinity at the time of the incident to come forward as the investigation into the deadly tragedy is ongoing.
